1. Software licence & account terms

Applies to creating an account and using TARANG.

Licence grant

Vayusoft Labs Private Limited ("Vayusoft Labs", "we", "us") grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and run the TARANG desktop application on one registered device per kind subscription that is active on your account, for as long as that subscription remains active. This licence is to use the software; it does not transfer ownership of the software, its source code, or the algorithms it implements, all of which remain the property of Vayusoft Labs.

Restrictions

You may not, and may not permit anyone else to: reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the application or defeat its licence protection, except to the limited extent an applicable law makes such a restriction unenforceable, and then only after giving us the opportunity to provide the information you need first; redistribute, resell, rent, lease, or sublicense the application or your licence key to any third party; remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notice; or use the application to build a competing product or service. Your own simulation inputs, parameters, and results remain entirely yours — nothing in this section limits what you do with your own scientific output.

Your account

One account, one licence key per kind, one machine per key. Moving a licence to a different device is a support request, not a self-service action — see Support. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.

Licence verification

The desktop application contacts our licence server before each simulation to confirm your entitlement, and does not run without a working connection to that server at that moment — once a run has started, it does not need to contact us again, so a dropped connection mid-simulation will not stop it. Air-gapped and firewalled compute nodes cannot start a run; see Support if that is your environment. See the Privacy Notice for exactly what is sent and why.

Disclaimer of warranty

The application is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that operation will be uninterrupted or error-free. TARANG is scientific and engineering simulation software: numerical results depend on the parameters, grid resolution, and physical assumptions you choose, and are not a substitute for your own scientific judgement. You are solely responsible for validating any output before relying on it — including, without limitation, for publication, engineering design, safety-critical decisions, or any other use where an incorrect result could cause harm or loss.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vayusoft Labs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, research time, or publication opportunity, arising from your use of or inability to use the application, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability arising out of or relating to these terms or the application will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under Indian law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our gross negligence, or for fraud.

Termination

You may stop using the application and let your subscription lapse at any time; a lapsed subscription is not refunded except as described in the purchase terms below. We may suspend or terminate your licence for breach of these terms. For a breach capable of being fixed, we will normally give you written notice and fifteen (15) days to cure it before termination; for breaches that cannot reasonably be cured — including circumventing or attempting to circumvent the licence check or obfuscation, redistributing your licence key, or non-payment — we may suspend or terminate immediately. Termination stops your ability to start new simulations; it does not delete, and we have no ability to delete, simulation results already saved on your own machine.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the application will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at the location of Vayusoft Labs Private Limited's registered office in India.

2. Purchase terms

Applies when you buy a kind licence. Not yet enforced on this site — online payment is not connected yet (see Downloads for the current state of the product), so nothing on this site currently requires agreeing to this section. It is published here in advance so the same stable link can be used once checkout exists.

Pricing and term

Each kind (HYDRO, MHD) is licensed separately, currently at ₹99,999 per kind for a six-month term, exclusive of GST — subject to change; the price in effect at the time you complete a purchase applies to that purchase. Terms do not renew automatically: when a term ends, that kind locks until you buy another term. There is no partial-kind or partial-term pricing.

The TARANG15 trial

Redeeming TARANG15 unlocks both kinds for 15 days, once per account, with no payment method required. It does not automatically convert into a paid subscription and does not automatically charge you at the end — kinds simply lock again unless you buy.

Invoicing and GST

Request an invoice from your dashboard; institutional purchase orders are accepted the same way — see Support. GST is added on invoices billed within India at the applicable rate. A kind is switched on once payment clears, not before.

Refunds

If a licence key has never been activated on any device, you may request a full refund within seven (7) days of purchase. Once a key has been activated, the purchase is generally final, because the software has been delivered and used — we will still look at individual cases (a duplicate purchase, a genuine technical failure on our side) on request; email Support and explain what happened.
